And...

Episode 5.09 Behind the Eyes (part 2)

Full Circle )
crystalcazzie: (Default)
Eight years and one day ago I posted my recaps for the final ever episode of Prison Break that turned out to not be the final ever episode after all. Today's recaps may very well be for the actual final ever episode, but I don't want to make any grand claims cos who knows what the future will bring.

Either way, season five has come to a close so while it may not be final, it's definitely the finale. And you won't be surprised to hear that the recap is a long one, so it's split into two parts.

Episode 5.09 Behind the Eyes (part 1)

Family Ties )

I had hoped to keep up a regular schedule of recaps, but I fear the finale is going to take a bit longer. This is for various reasons:

1. I had longer shifts for most of last week. And while this does mean more money (yay), it also means less time to do fun things like write silly recaps of TV shows (boo).

2. Tilly had a bad reaction to a tick bite where it swelled up quite badly and was a rather angry red colour so we took her to the vet cos I was worried that it could be something serious like Lyme disease. He gave us some anti-inflammatory medicine and we took her back a few days later to make sure it was all ok. It's gone down very nicely now, but I was very worried for a while.

3. I went to Oxford to see some friends at the weekend. We played board games and went out for dinner and I stayed overnight. It was really good to see them again cos it's been far too long. But, being the poster girl for introversion that I am, it did leave me feeling completely wiped out. I wish I had a weekend to rest and get over my weekend!

4. Our shower has broken. It went bang and stopped working while I was in it yesterday. Fortunately I was nearly finished anyway! We've ordered a new one and a guy is coming to fit it on Wednesday. I'm glad it's not going to be too long, cos it's really not the right weather for baths. Plus, I always like to rinse off in the shower afterwards anyway cos I feel like baths are more for relaxing than actually getting clean.

5. My joints ache. They often do this, but it feels even worse than usual at the moment.

But I am still working on the recap and I'm hoping it will be up soon. I don't want to rush or half-arse it cos it could very well be the very last Prison Break recap. (Of course I thought the same thing seven years ago, so who knows!)

Only one more episode of Prison Break to go and I've been so good. I haven't tried to find it online or read anything about it. I'm waiting to watch it properly on Tuesday. It's actually shown on Monday evenings here, but I record it and watch it after work the next day. Annoyingly I have a long shift on Tuesday, so I'm going to spend the whole day thinking about it and counting down the minutes until I get home!

For now, here is my recap of the penultimate episode....

Episode 5.08 Progeny

Game On )
crystalcazzie: (Default)
I've now seen episode 8 of Prison Break (and will be working on my recap over the next few days) and the season finale is being shown in America tonight, so I figure this is a good time to write down my thoughts about who I do and do not want to die...

Characters Whose Deaths Would Make Me Scream and Cry and Curse The Name of Prison Break Forevermore: Michael, Sara, Sucre.

Characters Whose Deaths Would Upset Me Cos I Like Them: Lincoln, Sheba, C-Note.

Characters Whose Deaths I Highly Doubt Will Happen Cos Even Prison Break Wouldn't Go That Far: Mike Jr.

Characters Whose Deaths Would Disappoint Me Cos They're Fun to Watch: T-Bag.

Characters Whose Deaths I Thought I Wouldn't Care About But I'm Starting To Feel For Them: Whip.

Characters Whose Deaths I Would Welcome: Blonde Assassin, Brunet Assassin.

Characters Whose Deaths Would Make Me Rejoice and Frankly If They Don't Die I'll Be Very Disappointed: Jacob.

Really, Jacob has to die. Think of all the paperwork Dr Sara's going to have to fill in in order to sort out her two marriages otherwise.

My latest Prison Break recap is here. Only two episodes to go now! I'm equal parts excited and nervous about what's in store. Please don't mess it up, show! Please let Michael and Sara get their happy ending. Sucre too, cos he's a sweetheart and I love him.

I'm also drinking wine as I post this, which I feel is only appropriate given the episode title...

Episode 5.07 Wine-Dark Sea

Another week, another recap. I must say I wasn't that impressed with this episode. It felt very much like a filler episode, which I don't think such a short series can afford to have. I just hope things pick up soon.

Episode 5.06 Phaeacia

Eye in the Sky )

Eurovision was last night and while I generally think of it as one of the greatest nights of the year, I must say I was a bit disappointed this time. I can't believe that Portugal won with that snoozefest of a song when Romania had a yodel-rap duo! What is wrong with you, Europe?

Also, Ireland didn't give us any points and I think we might have to go to war over it. Australia are our new BFFs now.

In other news, I have another Prison Break recap for your reading pleasure. It's not as long as the previous recap cos I didn't love this episode as much, and I was rather upset by something that happens in it...

Episode 5.05 Contingency

Planes, Trains and Automobiles )

And here's the second part...

Episode 5.04 The Prisoner's Dilemma (part 2)

He's My Brother )
crystalcazzie: (Default)
I loved this episode, and that's reflected in the fact that this recap is quite a bit longer than previous ones. Unfortunately it is so long that Livejournal won't let me post it. I had considered trimming it down, but you know what? I like it as it is so I'm just gonna split it into two.

Here's the first part...

Episode 5.04 The Prisoner's Dilemma (Part 1)

A Man of His Word )

My latest Prison Break recap is here and I would like to take this opportunity to ask the lighting technician to turn on the damn lights so we can see what's going on!

Episode 5.02: Kaniel Outis

It's Back!

Prison Break is back and so are my recaps! I'd forgotten how much fun I had writing these. I know America is a week ahead of us, so I haven't been to any sites that talk about the new series or read any theories. I'm sure I could find somewhere to watch it online, but I'm also sure that we're going to get to a dramatic cliffhanger at some point and I'm trying to wait until then so I can see the next episode without having to wait ages!

But now, for the first time in nearly eight years, I present to you my latest Prison Break recap:

Episode 5.01 Ogygia

I feel completely incapable of concentrating on pretty much anything right now. So let's go straight to the November topics meme.

Topic 6: Favourite BFFs/platonic pairing:

Probably Michael and Sucre in Prison Break. They're like brothers, just as much as Michael and Lincoln, and it's clear that they'd do anything for each other. I still like to believe that the series ends up with them living next door to each other with their wives, Sara and Maricruz, and their various children and they all live happily ever after.
crystalcazzie: (Default)
I have to say, based on the adverts and all the build-up, I expected Downton Abbey to have been a bit more wrapped up last night than it turned out to be. I suppose Mary getting married was something, even if it did happen ridiculously quickly, but all their declarations of love fell a bit flat cos Henry's left no impression on me whatsoever and it felt like their wedding came out of nowhere. I know their romance has supposedly been building all season, but it hasn't felt like it. (In fact this is the first time all year I've actually remembered his name, which says a lot about how invested I've been in this storyline!)

At least they finally acknowledged that Mary might have some issues being married to a man who races cars when her first husband died in a car crash. Of course this only merited a short scene and then it was all forgotten again, but still. That's probably the best you can hope for with Downton now.

And I still think Bertie's going to go back to Edith. That's going to happen in the Christmas special. It has to.

Anyway, onto the November meme. Topic 5 is Favourite Romantic Pairing:

Now, I know I've been saying that pretty much every single topic so far is a tricky one, but this is definitely the hardest yet. Shipping is such a huge part of my fandom life and, as with TV shows, I usually go through stages of being super obsessed with a ship for a while before finding a new one and becoming super obsessed with that, but just because my super-obsession has moved on doesn't mean that I don't still love the old pairings or ship them any less. So rather than trying to pick one, I'm going to go with a top ten eleven in no particular order:

1. Eleven/River (Doctor Who)
2. Roslin/Adama (BSG)
3. Sydney/Vaughn (Alias)
4. Willow/Tara (Buffy)
5. Michael/Sara (Prison Break)
6. Chuck/Sarah (Chuck)
7. Xena/Gabrielle (Xena)
8. Castle/Beckett (Castle)
9. Max/Logan (Dark Angel)
10. Mulder/Scully (The X Files)
11. Brennan/Booth (Bones)

Even this was difficult and I keep thinking of other pairings that I could have put on the list. I may have a bit of a shipping problem...
crystalcazzie: (Default)
It's November and that means I get to decide if I want to attempt NaNo again this year. I'm thinking probably not since I have enough trouble writing journal entries, let alone an entire 50,000 word story. But maybe I should have a go at writing something. Maybe my difficulty writing is because I'm out of practice and I should force myself to do it more. But I don't like the idea of writing something bad, even though I know I'm the only one who'll ever read it.

I could also attempt NaBloPoMo again. That's a bit easier since I don't have to write that much, just something every day. Of course in that case I'd have to remember to visit LJ on a regular basis, which could be an issue.

Hmm, I'll see how I feel. But for now, have some rambling about TV shows:

Bones, Castle, Doctor Who, Prison Break )

Hello

I've been back in the UK for a week now but I've been being my usual unsociable self and avoiding posting or commenting on LJ. So, how is everyone? Doing well I hope.

Las Vegas and San Francisco were excellent. Vegas was my favourite, I definitely want to go back there some time. I know it's not to everyone's taste, but I loved it. Especially the view of the Strip from the top of the Eiffel Tower at night.

While I was in America I did the whole collecting of state quarters thing. I ended up with 32 states and one territory. Not bad. I didn't get California though, which is annoying since I was there.

Since returning I've been watching a lot of CSI. It's fun to watch the establishing and background shots of Vegas and be able to say I've been to those places! It's also fun to see how old some of the shots are and how things have changed!

I'm not sure if I should admit that one thing I really liked to do while over there was think about TV shows! In Vegas I could imagine the kind of things Grissom and Sara might do together. In San Francisco I went to Chinatown and thought about the episode of Charmed with Piper and the ghost. And then in Alcatraz there was the episode with Phoebe and the ghost! Alcatraz also made me think a lot about Prison Break, for obvious reasons!

And now I'm back. And tired. And feeling kinda blah. It's London Pride today. I thought about going but didn't really feel up to it. Or anything really. Can I still blame jetlag for this? Or maybe the weather. Eh, I'll blame both.

I've caught up on Chuck season 3! Yay! The DVD boxset is truly one of the most glorious inventions of our time.

I'm half tempted to do picture recaps for it like I did with Prison Break, but it's a lot of work for something no one will actually read.

Speaking of Prison Break though, I couldn't help but notice certain similarities:

So, the current [livejournal.com profile] picspammy challenge is Fifty and as I'm a big shipper I thought doing 50 Shippy TV Moments would be a good idea. I've never actually posted to the community before so I'm a bit nervous about this though.

Anyway, here's the picspam. I hope you like it! And if you disagree with any of my choices or think I've left any obvious ones out please say so in the comments.
