Gingerbread & Cream
Oct. 27th, 2023 07:13 pmFor my trip into town today I went to Costa and saw they had the Gingerbread & Cream Latte back, so I went for one of those. Then I bought a Christmas sandwich from Waitrose and I'm not even sorry. I do not care that it's still October, I am going to enjoy the festive fare for as long as I can.
But it is still October and you know what that means... Halloween! I've put some decorations up on the front door as well as placing others around where I'm sitting, including some pumpkin string lights around my laptop. I also have Halloween bedding on my bed because I am a mature and responsible adult.
After Halloween is Bonfire Night and I'm already dreading it. So far I've seen signs for nearby fireworks displays on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. So three evenings when Tormund is going to be terrified. And that's not even including any private displays any neighbours might have. It's a shame cos I do actually love fireworks. I just wish they were silent!
In other news, the dead tree out the front of the house has been removed. Apparently the roots were very loose, so it's a good thing that it's been cut down cos otherwise it might have blown over during a storm, which would have been very bad since it was right by the road and a power line. We did feel a bit miffed by the comment though, almost like it was our fault for leaving it so long. We contacted the company back in April and it's taken them half a year to actually follow through and finish the job!
