Hello, Autumn!
Sep. 23rd, 2023 05:16 pmHappy First Day of Autumn!
I walked into town yesterday and had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the year:

It was very good. And I'm seriously considering making walking into town for seasonal coffee a regular thing.
I'm feeling very autumnal today and wanted to reflect that in my clothing choices, so I'm wearing my new dress, fair isle jumper, tights and ankle boots, all reddish-purple in colour to match the season.
Another exciting thing about this time of year is TV. Tonight sees the first proper episode of Strictly Come Dancing (the launch show having been on last week) and I'm very excited for it. I have champagne in the fridge to watch with and I'm looking forward to seeing which pairing I want to claim as my favourite. Based entirely on how well they dance, obviously. No other consideration at all!
Taskmaster and Star Trek: Lower Decks are also back and I'm enjoying them both very much. And The Great British Bake Off returns next Tuesday, which is one of those shows that always feels very cosy and autumnal to me.
Speaking of baking, a couple of days ago I made some red wine brownies. I deviated from the recipe a bit, which I know you're not supposed to do in baking, but they turned out really well:

And they taste great with stilton!
