Braaaainssss! BRAAAAINSSSS!

crystalcazzieThe essay is going...I can't exactly say it's going well but it is going. I was making notes from the lecturers own book and found his less than enthusiastic comments about Dead Poets Society. So now I want to put "Scorsese sucks" in my essay to get back at him. Stupid man, being mean about one of my favourite films.
One thing I'm planning on doing which he probably won't like is argue against the existence of a Christ figure at all. In my first year when I did Classical Studies I wrote an essay on the essential Greek Tragedy (Oedipus Rex, in case you were wondering) and personally I think all these arguments for Christ figures are actually for tragic Greek heroes.
Of course I'm going to do the first part of the essay like a good little Religious Studies student and argue cases for and against certain characters being Christ figures. That'll probably be dull. It's the second part I'm looking forward to doing.
Another issue is that I'm using Cool Hand Luke as an example, which is a film I've never seen, so it's kind of like writing a fanfiction story about a program I've only ever read other fanfiction about.
In other news, I am now an ebay seller. Although not a great one. I've sold three things so far, all of which had one bid, and made a grand total of £1.99 excluding postage. Plus two people haven't paid me yet so I've actually only made 50p. Dad is having much more success, obviously nobody wants old revision books and cricket jumpers.
I took Minnie to the vet yesterday cos the irritation on her back has returned. So now I have to give her Baytril and put the gel on her again and she's really not happy about it.

Date: 2006-04-15 07:13 pm (UTC)I was writing the essay earlier and one of the things I did was take a passage from the lecturer's own book and say why I thought he was talking crap. Although in much nicer terms. =D
By the way, I'm confused (easily done). Are we now having lunch in Wetherspoons with the others on Monday?
