Dear Moron,

Jokes about eating my rats are not funny. They're just not. Not in any circumstances. Those girls are my pets and I love them. Would you suggest eating someone's beloved dog or cat? No. So leave my rats alone. They are my babies and if you try to hurt them I will kill you.

It is also not a good idea to imply that rats are somehow worth less than other animals. Saying 'it's good to have pets...even if they are rats' just makes you look stupid and annoys me even more. I get the feeling that that may be exactly what you are trying to do but let me tell you it is a Very Bad Idea. At this time of the month not only am I likely to stab you for looking at me wrong, but I also have a valid legal defence for doing so. Seriously.

So in other words; shut the fuck up.
