Off the Boil

The boiler stopped working again yesterday and I couldn't get it back on.  I have an appointment booked for a replacement to be installed next week, which is good.  I was worried it was going to take ages but they said they understand that it's a priority as we currently don't have any heating or hot water.  

Of course this would happen just as the weather shifts to near freezing temperatures.  We even had snow this morning!  To keep us warm I ordered a fan heater earlier.  It's just arrived and is doing a fantastic job of warming the room.  The main issue now is going to be showers as unlike the old house the showers here use the hot water supply rather than heating up cold water themselves.  So I may just be stinky for the next few days!  

In other news, I went to visit the Hastings Museum today.  I was the only person there, which did feel a bit weird, but I was proud of myself for going and not chickening out!  It was really interesting.  I had hoped to buy some presents in the gift shop but the choices were limited.  I did manage to pick up some presents in town though.
