Nearby Rye

I got the bus to Rye this morning.  My first time visiting there since moving and I'm a bit surprised at myself that it's taken this long to take a trip.  I had a lovely time walking around, even if the weather wasn't the best.  

I wandered up to Ypres Castle and the Gun Gardens and looked out over the river.

I had breakfast at The Apothecary.  When I was there last year after viewing some houses with Rob I saw an Ocado van go past and sent Mum a photo to show her that we could still get Ocado if we moved to Rye.  So when I saw a van approaching today, well, I had to take a pic!

I went around the church and down Watch Bell Street.  I'd never taken that route before so I didn't realise what a view it had at the end:

You can just about make out Camber Castle in the distance! 

I bought a few Christmas decorations for myself and to send to Sonja.  I also got her a Rye coaster, which I hope she likes.  I should probably get her something Hastings related too, since that is where I actually live now!  😂
