Spooky Times
Nov. 3rd, 2025 07:57 pmHappy November, all! Where has the year gone?
I've been busy being a responsible home-owner. I had a plumber round on Friday to service the boiler and install a Hive system cos I really missed being able to control the heating from my phone. He got the wiring mixed up and the heating would come on when it was supposed to be off and go off when it was supposed to be on, but he came back the next day and sorted it out so it's all working as it should now!
I also had a locksmith round to give me a quote, and he came and did the work today. I probably should have changed the locks before now, but it's been fine. I'd probably have left it even longer if not for the fact that the kitchen door lock got stuck and we couldn't open it! But that's sorted now too and we can once again go outside from the kitchen. (Fortunately we also have a utility room with a back door, so Tormund wasn't trapped inside!)
I also have two new autumnal bedding sets that I've been rotating between. I was going to share pictures but Flickr is refusing to upload any of my photos for some reason. I'm not exactly sure what's going on but I hope it sorts itself out soon.
I went up to Surbiton for the pub quiz last Wednesday. Because it was Halloween week the quiz had a spooky/horror theme, which was a lot of fun. We were down a member but still did pretty well, coming second out of 26! We won a bottle of wine and I got to be the one to take it home. I haven't drunk it yet cos I feel like it should be saved for a special occasion!
