Football and a Fete

It's the Women's Euros and I'm doing our family sweepstakes again.  As usual we each have one team per group.  I chose the teams randomly but somehow Mum ended up with the one she wanted every time...rather suspicious, don't you think?  But it hasn't done her much good as most of her teams are out now!  

Yes, we are already into the Quarter Finals.  Yesterday Meg played herself and got through to the Semi Finals.  Tonight my England are playing Mum's Sweden.  Tomorrow Rob's Spain are playing my Switzerland.  And on Saturday Meg is once again playing herself and so has already secured a second place in the Semi Finals!   

In other news I went to the village fete on Sunday.  I wasn't sure about going but thought I should cos this will hopefully be the last fete I'm here for.  It was rather disappointing — even fewer stalls than last year and only one tombola —and I didn't even win anything this time!  But maybe this is for the best.  One less thing to feel sad about leaving!  

(I did buy some jigsaws, which was probably silly cos we're trying to get rid of stuff, but oh well.) 

Speaking of jigsaws, I'm trying to keep practising my speed puzzling but it's hard to find time with everything else going on.  I don't think I'm going to do very well at Worlds and part of me wishes I'd waited until next year to go, when I'll hopefully be a bit better at this!
