Taskmaster Live
Nov. 15th, 2024 07:08 pmA week ago today Paul and I went to Taskmaster: The Live Experience! I had no idea what to expect and was a bit nervous, but I hoped it would be fun and I could enjoy it for whatever it turned out to be.
It looked rather unassuming from the outside:
Obviously it says what it is, but it's not as flashy and obvious as you might expect.
When we entered we received our lanyards which proclaimed that we were Potato A and Potato B in the orange group! Then we had a look around the mini Taskmaster museum they have there...
Behold! The mighty trophy!
It took a while, and Paul had to give me a hint in which direction to look for the last one, but I did manage to find all three aubergines!
This task, on the other hand, I did manage to solve quite quickly. Of course when I got home I showed Mum and she got it even quicker!
This is the area that's supposed to be the Taskmaster Garden. It's not exactly like spending time in the real garden, but it was still fun. They had sheds and a red green where you could throw potatoes in a hole.
I had to get a picture of myself in the dome with the pineapple! It's really weird to talk in there cos it's so echoey!
Pineapple Selfie!
And Taskmaster wouldn't be Taskmaster without one of my favourite characters...
Patatas!
Gazing upon the glory that is Patatas!
There was also a giant spider over the entrance. No wellies though.
The Greg statue was also present, so naturally we had to get photos with the Taskmaster himself:
I look a bit weird here, kinda like my grandmother!
I had to crouch down so that both our faces could be in shot.
No photography was allowed in the Experience itself, but it was fun. I don't want to say too much of what was involved in case anyone else reads this (unlikely I know), but I will say that I didn't make the top five so I didn't get to play for the grand prize. I also didn't win the prize for the best loser, which disappointed me more cos it was a much better prize!
After we finished we rewarded ourselves with Taskmaster Beer from the Taskonbury Festival tent.
I started with The Perfect Stuff in a souvenir glass cos if there's one thing we need more of in this house it's glasses, lol! I followed that up with Chip Biffington. Both were really nice.
We sat around a barrel next to the caravan where we had a nice view of the garden, including...
Linda the Cow!
Obviously I had to get a photograph with Linda:
There weren't any signs saying not to climb on her, but I didn't want to take the risk!
And, of course, I had to have a seat in the caravan:
All in all it was a lot of fun and if possible we're hoping to go again in the new year and do the Melon Buffet version. (We did Absolute Casserole this time.)
