Yes, the winner of the sweepstakes will get this fine bottle of M&S prosecco and a fabulous First Place chocolate medal.
Who that winner will be has yet to be decided. The Group Stage is over and the Round of 16 is due to start this weekend. As it stands we're all fairly evenly matched. Meg has five teams left, Rob and Mum have four each, and I have three. But Mum, Rob, and Meg are all playing themselves in one match so they're all guaranteed a place in the Quarter-Finals and are also definitely going to lose at least one team getting there. Whereas I could go through with all my teams. Or I could crash and burn and be out first. Interestingly I am playing Mum, Rob, and Meg once each in my three matches. That feels nice and fair. And we all have teams on both sides of the board so at the moment any combination of meet-up is possible in the final.
In other news I no longer have a hairdresser. They closed down without warning yesterday and have apparently gone into liquidation. I was absolutely shocked. I was there last week and there was no indication that anything was amiss. I see on social media that it came as a shock to the staff too, which must be awful. Hopefully they can all find places to go. (Based on the number of comments from people asking to be put in touch with their stylists I'm thinking they won't be short of clients following them to wherever that may be!)
