It's weird to think that ten years ago today I was in London to watch the 50th special in the cinema. Then ten years ago tomorrow I was at the ExCel centre for the Official 50th Celebration convention. Time really does fly!
This also means it's around ten years that we've had the white streetlight outside our house. For ages we had a yellow one even after all the others had been changed to white. I have no idea why this particular one was different, but I do know that it was so useful for anyone trying to find our house in the dark. Then one evening while we were sitting in the living room watching An Adventure in Space and Time we heard an almighty bang. We went to the window to see what had happened and saw that a lorry had managed to drive into the lamppost and knocked it down. So of course it had to be replaced and was replaced with a white one. It is a slightly different white to the others so can still be helpful to locate our entrance, but nowhere near as useful as looking out for the yellow in a sea of white.
