40th Birthday Celebrations

crystalcazzieLast Thursday I turned 40 years old. Last Friday I went up to London to celebrate.
By going up The Shard!
We went to The View From The Shard, which is located on floors 68, 69, and 72. It was a nice day so we had a pretty good view and I took lots of pictures of various London landmarks:
The Wheel!
The Tower!
The Bridge!
The Cathedral!
The Monument!
The River!
And of course there were cocktails...
These ones were enjoyed up at The View.
After that we made our way down to Gong, a cocktail bar on the 52nd floor, and enjoyed some more drinks.
Nice view, too!
And then we made our way down and over to Hawksmoor, home of delicious steak...
We had chateaubriand. It was absolutely amazing!
And dessert! I didn't capture it in the photo but as well as the candle, they'd written 'Happy Birthday' on the plate! So lovely!
And as if all that excitement wasn't enough...
There was a dog on the train back! =D
