The Pinnacle of the Birthday Week
Sep. 7th, 2022 07:53 pmIt's the middle of my Birthday Week and also the day of my actual birthday. We took Tormund on a walk this morning, which was very nice. An autumnal feel to the air but not raining. The rain came later when we were safely back home!
I had a good haul of presents waiting to be opened when we returned:

The Wordle card is from my brother. Alas, it took me four guesses today.
I then continued building the Lego Globe. For reference, this is how it looked two days ago:

And this is how it looks now:

It spins too!

I then brought out the board games. Mum and I played Trivial Pursuit and a couple of rounds of Nostalgia. I won every game, which I feel is only right considering it is my birthday! We should play Trivial Pursuit more often. It feels good to keep the brain cells working. Especially now I'm getting old!
I also completed my replay of The Secret of Monkey Island. It really is a lot easier when you know what you're supposed to be doing! I'm hoping that when the new game comes out I'll have enough patience and self-control to solve the puzzles without cheating, but I'm a bit worried that the temptation may be too much. The original games took weeks and weeks to complete when we first played them cos we didn't have the internet so there was no option of looking things up and we had to work out the solutions ourselves. But will I be able to do that when I know that all the answers are just a few clicks away? Time will tell.
I'm currently drinking champagne and have just placed an order for pizza to be delivered in about an hour. So I will sign off this entry with my usual poem of birthday brilliance:
One more year beginning with three
Before the forties come for me
I'm celebrating being thirty nine
By drinking a very large glass of wine
