I can't believe I forgot to mention the most shocking thing to happen at this year's Eurovision. Namely that not only did the UK not get nul points, not only did we not come last, we actually came second. Second! See, this is what happens when we actually enter a decent song and, perhaps even more importantly, promote it too. For so many years we seemed to think that our Eurovision entry had to be kept super close to our chests, shown to as few people as possible so no one knew what to expect until the moment our artist took to the stage and dazzled the world with their performance. But, as it turns out, people prefer songs they recognise and have already grown to love.

Hopefully we will retain this lesson next year.

Also, the weather has been lovely lately and I took a few photos in my garden the other week. I'm still toying with the idea of buying a new camera, but with a phone this good I do wonder if it would be worth it:






















It's a bit of a wild garden, but that's good. I see so many bees flitting from flower to flower and tell myself that I'm saving the planet with my lack of gardening effort!
