Today I commented on two LJ posts and responded to one email. It's bad that this is a huge accomplishment for me, isn't it? I think I'm getting worse.

But enough of that because OMG guess what just got posted?

The 2011 Fandom March Madness Schedule! That's what!

I can almost hear my flist dividing itself into "I know! I've got my campaign materials all ready and waiting!" and "What on earth are you talking about you complete weirdo?" Anyone in the second camp who likes TV, I highly recommend you join in. It's a lot of fun!

And can I just say I'm very much looking forward to campaigning with and/or against people I made friends with last year? It's going to be awesome!

I tried to find a nice easy explanation somewhere, but there doesn't appear to be one, so you'll have to put up with my terrible attempt:

First, typicrobots chooses a selection of TV shows from various genres and we all vote for our favourite characters from each show.

Then those characters face off against each other in pairs and we vote for our favourite in each pair.

Then the winning characters from the previous round face off and we vote again, and so on until one character is left standing and crowned the champion! It's kinda like the world cup but with voting instead of football...

The fun comes from campaigning for your favourite characters in the comments. Posting pictures and gifs and, very occasionally, well thought-out logical reasons in an attempt to convince people that they should vote for, say, Temperance Brennan over Sheldon Cooper!

And there's the office pool, where you can predict how you think it's all going to turn out. I did very, very badly in that last year because I made my predictions based on who I wanted to win rather than who I thought would!
