It's Christmas!

Since two weeks today is Boxing Day I think it's safe to say that it is officially Christmas time. Hence why I have a shiny new Christmassy theme and icon for my LJ. I also have USB fairy lights around my laptop. Go me!

We brought the Christmas boxes out of the loft and went out to get the tree earlier. At the moment there are a few decorations up around the house and the tree is in its usual spot, unadorned at the moment, and confusing Tilly with its presence.

But I still don't feel Christmassy. This always happens so I'm trying to take an active approach this year. I am going to decorate the tree tomorrow after work, while drinking something seasonally appropriate (I haven't worked out what yet), and I've been making a list of Christmas episodes of TV shows I have on DVD so I can watch those over the next two weeks, along with all the Christmas films I have as well.

Next weekend I plan to make eggnog and I'm also thinking about baking some cookies. Or maybe just making cookie dough and eating that.

I still have all the presents to wrap, which I'm also scheduling for next weekend, and of course there's Christmas songs to listen to.

So, I ask you, dear flist, any suggestions for things I can do to increase my Christmassyness? :D

I'm soon going to go christmas shopping and... well, your gift is going to be a bit late.

I really need to get more on the ball about sending mail. I'm terrible. D:

And yes, I really do need to visit. I get more vacation in April, so things will be easier to plan. I REALLY REALLY want to go, but... I'm scared. It all comes down to me being afraid to travel. And that sucks. I need to get over this. =(

Seriously though, I understand being scared, and it frustrates me that I can't think of anything more helpful to say. But I can say that, if having a place to stay is a worry, you are more than welcome here. We have space in the downstairs room. It can get a bit cold, but being from Canada you should be used to that! :p
