NaNo. Not the iPod.

My NaNo story isn't going well. By which I mean it isn't going at all. I was going to write about one thing but then I realised I couldn't get much out of that at all. Now I've found an old outline for a story I could use but I'm not sure that's quite in the spirit of the event since I know where most of it is going. What I need is a great idea to strike so I can run with it.
(And the fact that I've gone to make an LJ post about three times and had to give up because I had no idea what to write does not bode well for my abilities in this area...)

... I would offer writing advice, but I've never participated in NaNo, because I *never* finish my stories**. I tend to forsake the planning and just write the scenes I like, then link them up later - I lose impetus if I'm writing a section I'm less interested in ¬____¬;; *coff* attention span *coff*. But I'm not sure that's good advice, exactly ~^^~.
**[On the other hand, I have written about 30 pages of fanfiction in the past two weeks. Maybe I *should* be taking part...]
