Women's World Cup
Aug. 3rd, 2023 06:00 pmAs I briefly mentioned in my previous post, we are doing a family sweepstakes for the Women's World Cup this year and we are playing for this fabulous prize:
As is now usual we were all randomly assigned a team in each of the groups so we all started with equal chances. The Group Stage is now over and 16 teams have progressed. Six are mine, five are Mum's, three are Meg's and two are Rob's. And although I have the most teams number-wise, four of Mum's teams were their group's winners so I think she's in the stronger position overall.
Also, both Mum and I are guaranteed to have teams in the quarter-finals because we each have a match where we play ourselves. And in both cases one of our teams is in the match that will provide the quarter-final opponent, so there's a good chance we'll play ourselves again then.
