Lego Cars and Purple Hair
Aug. 24th, 2022 06:48 pmDuring my week off back in July I completed a couple of Lego sets, which I posted about. But I also started the Ghostbusters ECTO-1 car, which I didn't finish. Now, over a month later, I have finally completed it:

I Ain't Afraid of No Ghost
The reason it took so long was that the damn thing kept falling apart! At one point I tried to push a piece in and half of the back side collapsed. I had to take the roof off after I'd already attached it, cos without being able to put my hand inside to stabilise the sides I simply could not push the pieces in with enough force to make them fit without also breaking what was already there. And even now the roof isn't on properly cos every time I tried to attach it something would come apart. Very frustrating! Maybe the problem is me not doing something right, but I've made a lot of Lego in my time and I've never had a set that felt as flimsy as this one.
In other news, I have dyed my hair:

Purple! Kinda...
The colour really only shows up well in sunlight. Inside it just looks brown with an ever so slight hint of purple:

Not-So Purple!
My hair was so dark to start with that I knew I couldn't expect anything dramatic, but I had hoped for a bit more colour.
Also today I had planned to pick blackberries and make crumble, but there were only a handful of good berries left. I fear I may have fruit rot in my garden and from what I can see it's very difficult to get rid of. Damn.
In better news, we have a release date for Return to Monkey Island! 19th September! I have pre-ordered my game, so I will have that sweet, sweet completely useless horse armour in my inventory when I finally get to play! Yay!
