Today I poked myself straight in the eye with a cable tie. Truly I am the epitome of grace and genius.

Day 20

I have a really bad headache. I suppose this is what happens when you have popcorn for breakfast. I went to see Breaking Dawn part 1 this morning and I wasn't about to forgo my usual cinema snack just because it was early.

Robert Pattinson did not look good. But then all of the vampires looked rather ridiculous. Except Esme. Makes me wonder what kind of power Elizabeth Reaser has over the make up artists.

I see the Children in Need auction for Matt Smith's clothes has gone up another £10,000 since my post yesterday. Might need a third person in on this.

From my 2010 Questions Meme: 6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010? The Lego Hogwarts Castle. (lol, easily pleased!)

Today I built the Lego Hogwarts Castle. This year is already awesome!

Although not for my brother. He's halfway through a skiing holiday and today he phoned us from an ambulance! He'd fallen badly and called again later to give us the news that he's dislocated and fractured his shoulder. Ow.

In completely unrelated news, there's now a Battlestar Galactica Online game. I tried it yesterday but gave up after five minutes because it was so unbelievably boring. Maybe it would have been better if I'd been a Colonial. (I chose Cylon, not because I have a preference for them but because after being a Cylon almost every time I've played the BSG board game I've now accepted the inevitable truth that I am in fact a total frakking toaster.)

But maybe that's a good thing. I don't need another distraction!

So is everyone excited about the World Cup starting tomorrow?

As I'm sure most of you know, I have very little interest in football. In fact the only thing about the game that I'm really passionate about is that it's called football and not soccer. But since money makes everything more interesting, that's about to change.

Yes, I am partaking in the World Cup sweepstakes at work. I drew Portugal as my team, which pleases me. I wasn't worried about picking a team with no chance of winning but I was worried about picking a team from a not very nice country that I wouldn't feel right supporting. But Portugal's good, so that's ok.

And yes, this does mean that I am supporting Portugal now. Because really, national pride versus the chance of winning actual money? No contest!

In other news, I have old-ladyfied myself. I did something to my back at work and it really hurts. I took a couple of strong painkillers and finished my shift but I was still limping along and trying to move as little as possible. I'm not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow. If it's not better by then I can't see myself being much use unless they stick me on the till or something.

The thing is, I did it in the cash office. I can't even say that I threw my back out while lifting a 20kg flat pack box. No, I did it while moving pieces of paper and counting money. That's not nearly as impressive.
crystalcazzie: (Cat Spit)
So, another WEEK has ended and the WEEKEND has begun. I have managed to do SOMETHING to my ankle, although I have no idea WHAT. I think I should SUE my work though. I'm sure I can find some reason why it's their FAULT.

Also, I'm not writing this entry from my USUAL chair because there is a CAT in it.

Photographic Evidence )

See how COMFY he looks on MY cushion, snuggled into MY Leonard Cohen top. He was PURRING as well so of course I couldn't MOVE him.

That's MCGEE, the cat we have named after the NCIS character. And the new season of NCIS starts tonight. YAY.

Firstly, I feel I should confirm that I am still ALIVE. This is AMAZING. The COLLAPSING and DYING is still a possibility though for the week is not yet OVER.

YES, that's right, I am WORKING TOMORROW. I have to be at work at 8:30 in the MORNING on SATURDAY. To do DELIVERY. I hope it's all done before MIDDAY because I want to GO HOME and have an AFTERNOON.

Still, even though I have to be up EARLY tomorrow, that doesn't mean I can't DRINK now. This week I have PIMMS. It is very NICE, It has STRAWBERRIES and RASPBERRIES and GRAPES in it. I like FRUIT.

Hopefully I will SURVIVE and get to ENJOY Sunday. A WHOLE day off will be LOVELY. And the chance to REST will be very much APPRECIATED. Once again my LEGS hurt, but my ELBOWS also hurt. My left ELBOW is PARTICULARLY PAINFUL, which is quite WORRYING.

In an UNRELATED note, Andy MURRAY is out of WIMBLEDON. Maybe now everyone will SHUT UP about it.

Ow. Ow, ow, ow, fucking ow.

And did I mention ow?

Hello friends, acquaintances and people who are lost on the way to someone else's journal. This is going to be a very nonsensical entry filled with pointless complaining and CAPSLOCK OF RAGE and also CAPSLOCK OF RANDOM EMPHASIS and quite possibly CAPSLOCK OF MAKING SENTENCES SOUND BETTER BY HAVING THREE EXAMPLES INSTEAD OF TWO.

First I must share with you all the fact that I am LE TIRED. This is because I began work at 9 today and, other than my hour's lunch (MMM SUBWAY GOODNESS) I didn't stop until 5:30. "But [ profile] crystalcazzie" I hear you say, "Most people work from 9 till 5:30." And this is true, but unlike a lot of those people, my job involves walking almost constantly and carrying stuff. Often heavy stuff. Thanks to my job I now consider anything under 20kg to be LIGHT.

So my LEGS HURT. And my FEET HURT. And I have loads of bruises because I am apparently as clumsy as Bella Swan and keep walking into things. Heavy things. Sometimes metal things. I also have a plaster on my finger cos last night I managed to grate a chunk of it off. There was BLOOD. On the one hand this shows that the 99p Argos grater I bought for 89p is very SHARP and that is GOOD. On the other hand it shows that I should not cook for myself because I can't be trusted around sharp implements and, again, that I am like BELLA FUCKING SWAN. This is NOT A GOOD THING.

Also, I'm NOT DRUNK. I'm NOT EVEN DRINKING. This must be rectified immediately because it is FRIDAY and I'm on the verge of KILLING SOMEONE.

You can probably guess that that is supposed to represent me getting a drink. I now have RUM AND COKE. Actually I have RUM AND PEPSI but that doesn't sound as sophisticated. This means I have been PLACATED and my icon is no longer representative of my general mood, but I shall keep it anyway because Xena is AWESOME.

There was less CAPSLOCK OF RAGE in this entry than I had originally planned, because I am paranoid over the TINY TINY TINY CHANCE that someone from work will find this journal. It's more FUN without the RAGE anyway.

I went to the doctor about my ears today. My doctor is... not the most caring person in the world. I told him my ears were painful and he shoves an otoscope in them and jams it around none too gently. I think it made my hearing worse too, probably cos it pushed everything further in.

He prescribed me ear drops, which I haven't put in yet but need to soon. I am wondering if I'm going to be able to hear anything at work later today. Should be interesting.

So I'm pretty sure I've got an ear infection. I base this conclusion on the swelling and pain and not being able to hear properly. And I've got to say, it's really weird working in a customer service based job when you can't hear very well. It's not even the problem of hearing other people so much as it is hearing myself. Everything is muffled and it doesn't feel real when I'm talking. Very annoying.

Dammit, what is it with me and hitting my head? It's like I'm not satisfied unless I've whacked my brain with or against something recently.
crystalcazzie: (Purple Flowers)
My old journal theme was depressing me. It wasn't bad or ugly, it just didn't fit with the sunshine and flowers of springtime that I've been seeing a lot of lately. So now I have a shiny new journal theme to look at and enjoy. And hopefully encourage me to post more because I am yet again neglecting this place. I'm a bad person.

Of course my other problem is that I have nothing to talk about. My life is very boring. And with Battlestar Galactica over I'm currently without an ongoing obsession to squee over/complain about. Of course Prison Break should be back soon, maybe I can get back into writing about that.

For now I will share my pain with you. And by that I mean my physical pain because I appear to have done something to my back to make it hate me. Ow. I assume I did something at work but it didn't actually start hurting until this morning, so I don't know.
crystalcazzie: (Prison Break Hammock Sex Note)
So, no more things have fallen on my head in the last couple of days. This is good. The bump from the car seat has mostly gone down now but it's still a bit tender. And I don't help matters by constantly feeling around for it to see what it feels like, which gives me a bit of a headache.

Also, I've been writing my Prison Break recaps again. They're shorter than the ones I used to write, and hopefully better. I know most people have no interest in the programme but I like writing them.

Up first we have the two part season opener that was actually shown about three weeks ago...

They're Back! )

Double Ow.

You know what hurts more than a sleeping bag falling on your head? A child's car seat falling on your head.

I think the universe is trying to tell me something. Probably about getting a job which doesn't involve things falling on my head.

Today a sleeping bag fell on my head. You might think that a sleeping bag wouldn't hurt much. You'd be wrong.

Speaking of things that are wrong - "Hercules and Xena: The Battle for Mount Olympus'. We watched this on Sunday and while I knew it wasn't going to be good, I wasn't prepared for how god-awful it actually turned out to be. To be honest I'm actually a bit annoyed that I wasted 80 minutes of my birthday on it. It was that bad.

But the rest of the evening was good. =D
